Troop 712 First Baptist Church of Biloxi attended summer camp at Camp Tiak during the week of June 24-30. The troop earned an Honor Camp Ribbon for the week while camping out for six nights in the Choctaw campsite.

Ten Scouts completed requirements for 45 merit badges while at the camp. Joshua Broom, Nathan Broom, Luke Dunaway, Alex Harrell, David Harris, Ryan Livingston and Cuyler Raudman completed five merit badges: Citizenship in the Nation, Nature, Indian Lore, Leatherwork, and Swimming; Blake Harris completed merit badge in shotgun and his cope belt; James Harris completed merit badges in lifesaving and life guard; Derek Van Winkle completed seven merit badges: Art, Astronomy, Chemistry, Textile, Sculpture, Indian Lore, and Nature with partial completions in reptile and amphibian. Joshua Broom, Nathan Broom, Luke Dunaway, Alex Harrell, David Harris, Ryan Livingston, Cuyler Raudman and Derek Van Winkle earned partial requirements in fishing and fish and wildlife.

Scouts Joshua Broom, Nathan Broom, Luke Dunaway, Alex Harrell, David Harris, Ryan Livingston and Cuyler Raudman completed requirements for their Fireman Chit. These Scouts completed the Death March: Joshua Broom, Nathan Broom, Luke Dunaway, Alex Harrell, Blake Harris, David Harris, Ryan Livingston, Cuyler Raudman, and Derek Van Winkle. Troop 712 also had five Scouts complete the mile swim; they were Joshua Broom, Nathan Broom, Alex Harrell, Cuyler Raudman and Scoutmaster Michael Van Winkle.
